540XL Powerhouse

Designed specifically for those who believe there's nothing better than a rediculous large motor, the new Hoss 4X4 VXL features the same Velineon 540XL brushless motor found in the Maxx® extreme monster truck. It's the largest motor ever offered in a truck of this size. The Velineon VXL-3s ESC delivers power smoothly, with large 6.5mm connectors and an integrated cooling fan for fast, reliable fun.

Extreme Sledgehammer Grip

The Hoss VXL 4X4 relies on enormous Sledgehammer tires to harness its immense torque. The 5.3" high Sledgehammers lift the Hoss high above the ground for excellent ground clearance and an aggressive look. The open tread design prevents mud and dirt from sticking to the tires, improving grip in extreme conditions. Sledgehammer tires come pre-glued, equipped with performance foam, and are TSM® rated for speeds of 100 km/h and higher!

Robust Drivetrain

A conventional 4WD system might work for your average RC truck, but 'average' is not in Traxxas' vocabulary. They've meticulously examined every part of the Hoss's drivetrain, reinforcing critical areas to handle the immense power of the 540XL motor. A Torque-Biasing Center Drive equipped with a steel gear replaces a traditional slipper clutch, along with a robust aluminium center driveshaft and extremely strong wheel axles. The resulting Hoss drive system is a textbook model of efficiency and brute force.

Self-Righting

The Hoss utilizes Traxxas' patented self-righting feature for uninterrupted driving fun, even if you go a tad too far with your wheelies or land that one extreme stunt upside down. Simply press a button on the transmitter, and in most cases your Hoss will be back on its wheels within seconds, ready for more action!

Clipless Body

The sturdy and innovative clipless mounting system of the Hoss provides a secure attachment and easy one-handed removal. Battery swaps are quick, and there are no body clips to lose. A robust internal cage structure with integrated roof and tailgate skid protect the body from wear for extended longevity, while reinforcements at attachment points prevent tears.

Ultra Shocks

The oil-filled Ultra Shocks™ utilize double X-ring technology for a perfect seal and a silky-smooth ride. The large volume and robust shock design absorb big jumps and off-road punishment for smooth driving performance. They are easily adjustable with a wide range of available oils, springs, and pistons.

Traxxas TQi

The TQi 2.4 GHz radio system stores up to thirty models in memory, allowing you to use a single transmitter for your entire RC garage. Integrated telemetry ports in the receiver send real-time data to the transmitter when using the Traxxas Link™ App and telemetry sensors (sold separately). In the event of signal loss, the receiver automatically returns power to neutral and holds the last steering position. The Hoss boasts a waterproof receiver box and the antenna and servo wires pass neatly through a patented waterproof seal to protect the receiver from water. Whatever the weather, the Hoss 4X4 VXL is ready for action!

VXL-3s ESC with Active Cooling

The waterproof Velineon VXL-3s speed controller is loaded with technology to deliver maximum power. A large heatsink, integrated on/off switch, and three programmable drive profiles top the list of features. Two-stage low-voltage detection enables full LiPo compatibility, including powerful 11.1-volt 3s packs!

Extreme Heavy-Duty Driveshafts

The Hoss's extremely heavy-duty driveshafts are modeled after the legendary Slash® 4X4 but reinforced in critical areas to handle the Hoss's insane power. The larger diameter half shafts offer the same articulation and suspension travel, but can withstand even more tire-shredding torque.
