This trailer module is really multi-talented. It is connected by infrared to the tractor. For data transmission an Infrared Transmitting Module has to be installed in the tractor.
Besides the regular Kingbus Light Modules also two motors may be connected to this trailer module. With these for example supports or ramps on the semi-trailer can be operated. Each motor can be equipped with limit switches. The necessary preparations have already been made. Only the limit switches have to be connected to the supplied cable.
The module has an input for a potentiometer. This measures the relative angle between tractor and semi-trailer. For this a separate parts kit will be offered in the near future. The steered axle control can be selected between "trailing" and "reverse" (by a push button on the Kingpad). Furthermore it is possible to steer the axles manually to the desired steering angle - also by push button on the Kingpad!
Furthermore up to 16 LEDs (side lights) can be connected in serial to the module. The brightness can be continously dimmed with the potentiometer on the module. The LEDs are switched on together with the parking light.
With an additional Kingpad mounted to the semi-trailer the motors (supports/ramps) can be controlled even without infrared connection to the tractor. This is helpful if for example if the tractor has been stored already after a day of driving, and the ramps on the semi-trailer still need to be folded up.
All these special functions can be controlled with the regular Kingpad. With the "S"-button one may change to a second level. The buttons for the light functions are then being used for the special functions (supports, ramps, saddle plate, steering axles). To explain the second-level buttons, a narrow sticker is supplied which describes these functions. This is placed between the upper und lower keys on the Kingpad. For a detailled explanation also a sticker in original Kingpad size is supplied. This can be sticked to a free space on the transmitter.

Besides the infrared receiver unit also all cables and connectors are supplied.
Kingbus systems which have been acquired from November 2016 already support the trailer function! For "older" modules a software update can be installed by us. Please contact us!
