Overview
The Axial Toyota Hilux is all about combining scale realism with trail performance. The SR5 Xtra Cab body is officially licensed and comes with many off-road details already installed, so it looks complete straight out of the box without needing extra scale accessories. Thanks to the clipless system, you can remove the body quickly, which is useful for battery changes and maintenance.
Under the body sits the SCX10 III chassis with a strong steel ladder frame. It’s rigid enough to keep the suspension working accurately, which you’ll notice most when crawling slowly over larger obstacles. The Trail-Gear AR45P portal axles add extra clearance at the differentials, helping you avoid getting hung up on ledges and rocks.
The LCXU transmission is a single-speed unit with a DIG function. With DIG, you can lock the rear wheels on command while the front wheels keep turning. This makes very tight turns possible, especially when you have plenty of grip from beadlock wheels and soft tyres.
The drivetrain is equipped with waterproof electronics. That makes the model suitable for wet grass, mud and puddles, as long as you clean and dry it properly afterwards. All you need to choose is a 2S or 3S LiPo with an IC3 connector (or an adapter) and a compatible charger.
